Research

The Family, Infant and Preschool Program (FIPP) has been involved in early childhood and family support research since 1972. Specific studies and projects include examination of effective practices that support positive outcomes for young children and their families as well as investigation of promising strategies and approaches that support early childhood practitioners in implementing evidence-based interventions. FIPP research has been instrumental in promoting positive outcomes for children, families, and practitioners all over the world. We value our continued partnerships with family members, caregivers, programs, and agencies that make possible continued collaborative efforts to conduct high quality research and program evaluation.

At FIPP, all activities are evaluated from many perspectives, but always include input from families involved in our program. FIPP staff members routinely request input from parents and caregivers in the form of interviews, surveys, and informal conversations. Many of the state and federal programs from which FIPP receives funding, require that interventions be evidence-based and result in positive outcomes for the recipients of the services. FIPP greatly appreciates the willingness of family members and other community partners to participate in evaluation activities that provide the necessary information for continued and expanded funding of FIPP supports, services, and research.
